Shelly Unwin is an internationally published children’s author, speaker and the area Coordinator for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators ACT.
Shelly’s books include the narrative non-fiction picture book Blast Off!, illustrated by Ben Wood and shortlisted for the US Story time from Space Program, There’s a Baddie Running Through This Book! Illustrated by the Lego Batman Art Director, Vivienne To. And her latest book, Hello, Baby! Illustrated by best-selling children’s illustrator Jedda Robaard.
Shelly is an advocate for reading to babies and presents talks on the benefits of reading from birth, as well as a dynamic and inspiring presenter/workshop facilitator for K-6 students. Described as ‘effervescent’ and commended for leaving children abuzz, Shelly has made her mark in the industry for sharing her contagious joy of books.
Her books can be found in Europe, North America and Australia and she is represented by Essie White of Storm Literary US. Shelly lives in Canberra with her husband, two children and crazy, cute Cavoodle – Biscuit.
