After several years as a book jacket illustrator in England, I moved to Australia in 1989. Here I soon developed a love of picture books.

Bamboozled, my first picture book, won the 1995 CBCA Honour Book and seven children’s choice awards in both Australia and the USA. My other titles include 2004 CBCA shortlisted book Baby Boomsticks (written by Margaret Wild), 2006 CBCA Honour Book Kisses for Daddy (written by Frances Watts) and 2008 CBCA award winner Parsley Rabbit’s Book about Books (written by Frances Watts).

If there is a common thread to my work, I like to think it is warmth and humour – the two main ingredients that made up my own childhood.
