Kristin Darell has been a passionate storyteller since she was a child. As an adult, sheโs made this passion her life and is now the author of 9 books for children, including the popular Football Fever series in partnership with Football Australia and her new series, Taronga presents, for kids aged 7+.
Kristin Darell has visited thousands of children across Australia, along with their teachers and librarians, sharing her love of books and stories and fun ways for children to create stories of their own. She has also appeared at a number of major festivals as both host and participant, including the Sydney Writersโ Festival.
When sheโs not writing, Kristin is a strong advocate for childrenโs literature, working as the Program Manager for the Australian Childrenโs Laureate Foundation. She is also a Books in Homes Role Model, an Author Pen Pal and helps run the ASLA DANZ Childrenโs Book Awards. Kristin firmly believes every child should be able to access the magic of stories in whatever form is best for them.
Before focusing her attention on writing for children, Kristin worked as a broadcast news and sports journalist for major Australian news organisations for more than twenty years. She lives on Sydneyโs northern beaches with her husband, two children, two dogs, pet snake and three-legged pygmy bearded dragon.
