Kat Colmer is a Sydney-based author and teacher librarian who writes coming-of-age stories with humour and heart. Her contemporary young adult novels Can’t Beat the Chemistry and Remind Me Why I’m Here are published by Rhiza Edge. Kat’s award-winning short fiction has appeared in short story anthologies, as well as the NSW School Magazine.

Kat has a Diploma of Education with a Masters in Teacher Librarianship and loves working with teens. Over a decade of classroom and school librarianship experience coupled with writing for young adults has enabled Kat to run thriving book clubs, writers’ groups, and other literature initiatives.

As an author with a teaching background, Kat’s workshops and presentations ensure for an engaging experience covering everything from writing craft to creative inspiration, as well as pertinent and practical teacher professional development. Kat speaks fluent German and is looking forward to the day she’ll be able to read one of her novels in Deutsch.
