Dr James O’Hanlon is a scientist, artist, author, illustrator, and award-winning science communicator. He is an expert in animal behaviour and ecology. If it is small, mysterious, and lacks a backbone, James has an insatiable desire to find out what it is and what it does.
James was the 2021 recipient of the Varuna–New England Writers’ Centre fellowship, and his popular science writing has appeared in ABC News, The Guardian, Australian Geographic, and The Sydney Morning Herald.
My public art pieces can be found throughout the New England region of NSW.
